Golden Corral in Rochester is a total Fail why? Its simple, this Establishment is filthy,
not only in utensils but also smell. As you enter the large red and yellow building, the only one in this area of Rochester, you will be quickly greeted by a long line of people waiting to pay and get in. Not only that but there will be cups, soda and ice tea, water not visible but juices yes. Along with this is no sign that labels, drinks cost $1.99, yeah they say the cost of large cups but the normal ones? Nothing. So like anyone else you follow the group and take a cup thinking "hay its probably free" since there no sign that says otherwise. When you finally reach the cashier or greeter, they count how much people there are and give you your cost along with the drinks. This is shocking right, since there was no sign saying the cost of drinks but yes apparently they assume you know and add it on. If you're one of those people who saw the nationwide commercial of Golden Corral thinking that it apples to every store, well your wrong. Instead of listing which area these offers apply too in their commercials everything is left unlabeled. Instead the cashier tells you whether the advertisements apply to their store, which it most likely doesn't. In Rochester's Golden Corral the offers are not applied apparently, instead we were told that such offers applied to certain stores located in other states like Florida, YES!Florida. When we entered the restaurant after the disappointing news from the cashier, we were immediately kicked in the nose with the foul smell of wet dog and B.O, now you may think this is due to the people and that the problem could be fixed with cleaner people but No there are no open windows in the area, it was like locking pigs in an area and letting them eat in their dirty smell. After finding a room that smelled decent and was apart from the large entrance we finally went to get food. And you would hope that the food would make up for all the defaults in the restaurant but no, the utensils had food remains and stains on them and looked like they were not washed but rinsed and put back. Not only that but they didn't have other alternatives like plastic utensils or plates. Now the food, was it good? Nope. The fish looked and tasted like it was microwaved with no seasonings, when we asked they said it was baked which obviously was a lie. There was almost no desserts and what was served was limited, such as salty pies that had almost no crust and disgusting filling that tasted frozen and warmed in seconds. Though there cookies were good, the bakeries did not hold up and tasted almost sour as if it was old. The fruits if i may add were rotten, small and discolored, the chocolate fountain which received so much praise tasted like brownie mix and the marshmallows were hard and tasted still, it was so gross. Everything was tasteless, there was no exciting dish that held in hint of spice, salt, anything. Their Mexican food tasted like the food from a high school cafeteria except stiller and cold. I felt like i wasted my money and time, and left the restaurant thinking a least i had cotton candy but only after a minute it started to melt. The service was also terrible, first of all there is one, and i say one server to each area of about 15 people, not only that but apparently we cant throw out garbage cause there's no garbage can, we can't get our own drinks cause the server has to get it for us and we also have to wait for them to notice that were done with one plate before they come and clean the table. Also many servers were either talking with each other, over the food or over the people, apparently one worker felt that it was okay for her to talk on her phone over us, not by literally bending her body to look out the window while talking on her phone loudly over us. Golden Corral in Rochester is a total Fail and I hope it goes out of business soon.
