Google is a great search source, but did you know there is also GoogleAD, for promoting, as well as built your own website on google for free, incase you want to expand your event, idea into a business, or even a way to sell tickets.
Twitter, hmmm...I don't know much about it, but I sign in anyways and made a page. I guess if you want to put your ads in comment boxes for celebs or famous slash rich people to see it, then bingo, you've got twitter, but Youtube does that best, so if you are already familiar with twitter, and you have alot of followers, then this would be a great tool for you.
Linkedin is new to me, so I don't know how to use it to it's full potential but, what I can tell you is that it's a great way to connect with business people, or people in the same field slash interest as you. There are sponsers and investors who arew willing to invest in great idea. So if you don't have cash and you need some, sell the investors, sponsers or everyday people with generous hearts your idea and see if they will be willing to invest in your dreams. Warning, never ask for too much money, incase they want you to pay it back in the near future, that might be a mess. Also, not everybody on linkedin is trusthful, you have to be smart and clever to the crooks out there waiting to rip you off, and steal your identity.
Even if you're not a fan of YouTube, which is hard to believe, you still can not denied the fact that it's a great way for advertising and getting your event, business, talents, creativity out there to the millions of viewers, who will see your video. Make a Powerpoint or a short video advertisment and put it on youtube. You could also promote it after signing into Youtube, but that's if you don't mind paying some cash. It's worth it, because regardless if a person want to see it, it's going to show up on every video.
Facebook is an excellent way to been known, but, it can be alittle diffcult if you have no friend or not as much friends as you would like to share your event with. FaceBook has an event calendar that you can post your event on, as well as the facebook wall, and you can also promote, with a little cash! Imagine millions of people seeing your event ads, and if they love fashion, or what ever you're interested in, then you've got yourself some audience, who will pay to come see your fashion show.
